If they choose, then yes, they can make a contribution to society. Then again, there are some people, like Picasso, who was considered to be autistic (but they did not have a name for that condition back in those times), who also made a contribution to society.

What about Hitler? His IQ was said to be 141, and look at the contribution he made to society!

There are people who attend great universities and walk away with highly polished degrees. But some of these people never really go after their goal. I think there are a lot of people who never finished school who have achieved more in life than some of these graduates. So, to me, I don't believe high IQ's really make a difference. I guess it's what you've learned in life and what you make of it that allows one to get their best foot forward.

The answer to your question is a definite maybe. People with high IQ's can contribute to society if they want to, and a lot of them do. In my opinion, they have a moral obligation to contribute to society, just like the rest of us. But they don't have to, and a lot of them don't.

Yes they do
But they can also be dangerous. And do like they did in WWII and create the H-Bomb and blow up the world... so no they are not that smart. A High IQ makes you smart but does not give you common sense.

It would all depend on the amount of wisdom they hold. An intelligent fool will give us nothing worth while.
