We're having a little boy, due November 7, and we're really excited, but can't seem to agree on a name.

I like the name Caden, but I am afraid it's too trendy right now, and I don't like names that have tons alternate spellings (e.g. Caiden, Cayden, Kayden, Kaeden, Kaden, etc.). I always want to use the traditonal spelling of a name.

I like the name Mason, but my hubby doesn't care for it. He like the name Calvin, but I think the inevidible nickname "Cal" makes for a mouthful of C's when you say it with our last name (Cal Capner)

We'd love your opinions and ideas for other names that sound good our with name.

TIPS about our naming style: We're NOT set on having his name start with a "C" or a "K"--in fact I'm not sure I like the alliteration of using them together, though it works with some names (e.g. Caden, Carson). We like some classic names (Henry, Oliver, Jack, Josh, none of which we can use b/c of family ties), and we like more modern choices too (Mason, Caden).

Caden does sound nice, but I agree that the alternate spellings makes for a lifetime of corrections for your baby. Also there are tons of Aiden, Brayden, Caden's etc.

I also like Mason, but Grayson and Carson are nice alternatives that your husband may go for.

Calvin is so cute! If you commit to always writing his name as Calvin, mostly calling him Calvin, and only using Cal conversationally, I think you'll be fine! That's super classic and fits both a little kid and a grown man.

Other names you may like:
Evan Capner
Michael Capner
Joseph Capner (Joe/Joey)
Miles Capner
Charles Capner (Charlie Capner is cute too!)
William Capner (Will Capner) or Wilson Capner

Good luck to you!

I love Caden Capner, too. If you intend on using a middle name, any of these names will work as a middle name for Caden or Carson.

Someone else suggested 'Simon' and i thought that would go perfectly with your name. Simon Capner. That's just lovely. Common names like Ryan can be changed to to something like Ryun or Riyn. I think finding a nice boys name is so hard lately and not to discourage but the Hayden, Aiden, Brayden, Jayden, Kaden thing is getting so common. Nice sounding names, but everyone is using them at the moment.

I have two boys and their names are Jack Walter and Elliott Edward ... I actually was gonna name my next one Oliver Martin , but Elliott just seemed more sweeter at the moment . I get many rewards of having an Elliott . I think it is a sweet name and he is a sweet boy . I wish the best and I am sure what ever you decide will be just fine .
