It is possible for a mac to get a virus. The reason that most mac users don't see them is that hackers who write viruses are trying to hurt as many computers as possible (I know, they are losers who need to get lives!) so they write viruses for the OS that maintains 99% of the computer market (Microsoft Windows). The truth is that any OS can get a virus and there is no best OS out there. Buy a computer based on your personal preference and you will find yourself happier with your purchase than if you had bought what everyone else prefers.

Yes,
the only reason that they don't often get infected is because 98% of the computer market is made out of PC's. And those cophisticated, overweighted, (not)outdated, losers wanna target more people. So then they get PC users.
So, if every one got iMacs, then macs would start getting viruses and PCs wouldn't.
And, PC's are better.
They have more app. available to them and they are generally cheaper and Windows is the same as Mac OS X

Any operating system is susceptible to viruses. Macintosh computers are less susceptible because they have a small market share; most viruses are written for Windows. Macintosh computers tend to be better designed in terms of hardware, software, and usability. What should govern your choice of operating systems, however, is what software you plan on running. Decide what software you absolutely positively have to have, and then buy a computer/operating system that can run it.
