I don't think your anemone would have died, but it probably did act defensively by pulling in all its tentacles and shrivelling into the smallest form it could take.
If the urchin is off it now, just let it be and it should open again within an hour.
Remember that anemones reproduce by splitting themselves in two, so a poke by an urchin, unless it was a diadema (long spined urchin) probably wouldn't do much damage.
Diademas, however, have a weak toxin in their spines, so it may have caused a little more damage to the anemone.

i dont think its dead those things take alot more to kill it a sea horse touching it wont kill it the sea horse would die before the anemone unless you have put some kind of hydroxide, lemon juice, bleach , boiling water... those are realyl the only things to kill it

The anemone's that I see at the beach are extremely responsive to being touched. Try touching it.

Ohh There really sencitive so that might of killed it. Yeah try poking it but make sure your hands are really really clean. Dont poke it really hard. Good luck!~~~!! Hope its not dead!

if it is desentigrating around the base, the mouth is swollen, gaping, turning to mush it dying or dead, if it is just shriveled and keeping it tentacles in its fine

anemones are one of the most durable of its type. believe me if yours is dead you will know for sure soon.
