How do you reinstate a suspended license? Can you go it over the internet or the phone? Or do you have to go in person? (I just have to pay a fine).

i live in another state. had 3 different fines with FTP and FTA on them. They were over 4 years old. I called the DMV, got the docket # and court it was issued. Called the court, gave them the info and asked if i could appear or pay the fine and how much it is. Got the address and sent the money. I could've appeared, and that woulda prob. reduced the fine amount, but it was too far to try to appear. It took about 3 weeks from the time i mailed it to the time it was entered in. the next day, i went to the DMV and got my license. No problem.

I don't know of anywhere that you can take care of it over the phone or online, especially if you have let it go and missed a Court date to where your license is suspended.

You will need to go to the Courthouse and pay the fine, get proof that you paid the fine, then wait inline at the DMV to show the proof that you paid to get your license reinstated; in some State, there is a fee.

Not something you want to mess around with, get it done as soon as possible, if you are pulled over and your license is suspended, you can be arrested and go to jail and have your vehicle impounded and have to pay all towing and storage fees, on top the misdemenor charge of driving without insurance. If you have an accident while driving on a suspended license, in most case you insurance company is not liable, you are, even it the other party is at fault.

Usually you have to pay the fine at the court house and then wait for the letter from the Department of Transportation notifying you of your license's reinstatement.

Check with your state DMV. You probably need to appear in person.

Chances are very good you'll have to do it in person.
