First of all, as a minor you can not contract for a rental, nor can you purchase a motor vehicle.
Even if you could, there are no rental companies that will rent to a 16 year old. A few companies will rent to 18 year olds (usually with a higher rate) Some require you to be 21. Some actually will not rent to anyone under 25.
You are going to be stuck walking or riding a bike. Sorry.

No way, sorry..... First of all, you'd need a credit card in your name.... but no US company will rent to a 16 year old, basically because of the insurance risk... It's next to impossible for someone under 21 to rent a car as well.

You can ask the various rent-a-car places.
I believe there are two things they really care about, in addition to your money and driver's license.
1. You have proof of financial responsibility, so that if you wreck their car, they will get all the money to replace it with a brand new comparable vehicle.
2. You go in wearing clothing that makes you look like a regular customer.
If you wear a business suit, carry a brief case, act like a grownup, they won't even ask your age.
If you go in wearing torn jeans that reveal your butt, and T-shirt with some clever slogan, and no shoes, they will tell you "Sorry, no cars available right now."

Sorry, yet at sixteen you would be fortunate to get a McJob. in case you have some specific qualifications that could desire to allow you start up your guy or woman employer once you're 18, you are going to be waiting to make good funds. in any different case, you're shutting a great style of doors for your self. evaluate getting lower back in college, or your destiny is bleak.
