ya i thought so at first too!! but then i just thought about it more and realized no... cause well its not probable that voldemort would make him a horcrux for these reasons...
1. its just not a good idea to make a person a horcrux...it was even iffy on if it was a good idea to make nagini a horcrux
2. if voldemort knew about the prophecy when he tried to kill harry (which he did...cause well thats the whole point in him trying to kill harry) then he wouldn't make the person he is supposed to kill a horcurx...cause well part of him would die when he would manage to kill harry and thats just a waste of a horcrux. i mean he wouldn't want to kill part of himself....unless he happened to overlook that too..he does that often
so for these reasons he just can't be....but i definitly thought the same thing at first...but i still think that both harry and voldemort are going to end up dying..nt cause harry is a horcrux though
buttt waiit!!! woww i just changed my mind again....now i agree with you cause then that would be a sure proof way for him to stay alive no matter what the outcome of the battle is.
if voldemort wins then well he wins and if he loses then well he is still in harry....oooohhh uuggg that just ruined my whole philosophy....okay yaaa maybe he is...now im even more curious!!...

Well it make sense if you look at it like this: Voldemort was going to make six Horcruxes and the seventh soul piece would be inside him. He was going to make his 6th and final Horcrux with Harry's death. Since then he has had no opportunity to make another Hocrux. But as Dumbledore mentions harry having a piece of voldemort inside him and still plows on with the 6 horcrux theory it seems that he knows harry is a horcrux. also he says he expects the last Horcrux to be something of Gryffindor's or Ravenclaw's is it not possible that harry is a decendent of Gryffindor's? Also there will undoubtedly be arguments about Voldemort killing his own horcrux and how that is the opposite of what he should want to do. The way i see it, it was an accident so it is possible Voldemort is ignorant of it and even made another horcrux, or that he feels that harry, even as a horcrux provides more danger (the only person that can kill voldemort) than saftey. It is also possible that he just plans to make another horcrux with the death of Harry.I'm not sure i'm right, in fact I could be completely wrong but it seems to make sense... for more info about harry potter check out www.beyondhogwarts.com

I agree with Deathly Hallows Expert, it is quite possible that Voldemort has unwillingly made Harry a horcrux, as it has been reiterated that Harry contains a part of Voldemort, and, although it lacks presice spell to create a horcrux, it has the same basic concept. The books also mention (via the prophecy) that one cannot live without the other, therefore, for one to die, so must the other. Yes, I think Harry is a horcrux, and yes, I think he will die. Also, J.K. has made it clear that she will write NO more Potter books, and killing Harry would make it very clear that there will be no more books about him.

while Harry and Voldemort may share some of eachother's powers, when Voldemort tried to possess Harry it caused him immense pain so there for i believe that having a part of Voldemort's soul inside him (Harry) would not be possible because Harry is full of love; the very thing Voldemort hates.
knight1192a: if Harry were a Horcrux, i would think Voldemort would just use Harry's body like he did Quirrells until he could either get another Horcrux made or just live through Harry

No i don't think so, At first i agreed with the general aggreemnet of oh yeah harry's a horcrux but then it made me think wait how did he do it? Voldemort was going to make a horcrux out of HARRY'S DEATH so he went there and only prepared the killing curse not the horcrux spell. I don't think that spell could have accidently come out and hit harry. But if it's true i think there may be a reason dementors can suck out souls.... Just a theroy. And i do believe harry will live. I know its literal but the prophecy says neither can live while the other survives. So one of them dies. Voldemort of course because we know harry will most likely goes into the final battle alone and only fight him no hermione with logic or ron with a chess game.
harry is not a horcrux and he will live.

I believe Harry is definately a horcrux, and Voldemort and Dumbledore knows it. Everything in the books point to it. It is the ultimate irony that the only shard of soul in Harry's body is Voldemort and that because of Harry's mother's love and sacrifice, he has grown up to be a different person then Voldemort, even though he is really Voldemort not Harry. One thing I think everyone here may be missing is the possibility that harry did die at Voldemort's hand when he was a baby. Wouldn't that be a blast if Harry died when Voldemort attacked him but because of Lily's sacrifice when Voldemort succeeded in making him into a horcrux, the spell that was cast somehow backfired and destroyed his current body. We as the readers only know what the characters know. No one was there to witness what actually happened between Voldemort and Harry. Only that when the members of the OOTP came they found harry's parents killed and what appeared to be Harry still alive. I think that Harry is as much Voldemort as Voldemort himself. Voldemort constantly tells Harry how they are more alike then harry knows. I think Voldemort is so desperate to kill Harry because he knows that harry is a horcrux that is a diseased or cancer-like copy of him filled with the weakness of love, not hate so he would rather kill that part of himself which also according to the prophecy has the ability to destroy him. Let's be honest If you found out there was a clone of yourself and it grew up to be your opposite and embodied everything you hate and depise in a person, you would try to destroy it rather then let it live. I also think that it would make sense why Snape despises harry so. I think Snape is good and has been on Dumbledore's side since Voldemort's disappearance and Snape is afraid of Harry(Voldemort) remember the one thing Snape consistantly attacks Harry about is how famous and popular he is and how he really is not that special. Wasn't Tom Riddle obsessed with being special and unique. Maybe Snapes job was to give Harry a lesson in humility to constantly ingrain in him a hatred for being special or different to prevent that trait in him so he wouldn't have it like Voldemort grew up having it. Snape may of course treat Harry badly because he secretly loved Lily and blames harry for her death. I just realized. There are 7 horcruxes and this final book is book 7. Is there a connection?

Why would Voldemort risk his own immortality by killing one of his horcruxes? The whole reason to create a horcrux is to gain a measure of immortality. This is because as long as the horcrux exists, the maker can not die. They can loose their physical form as Voldemort did when he first tried to kill Harry. But they still are alive.
In order for a traditional horcrux to stop functioning as such it must in some way be destroyed, and will bear physical proof of that destruction. The two horcruxes of Voldemort's we know to have been destroyed are Riddle's diary (or Voldemort's diary if you prefer as they are the same person) and Marvolo's ring. Harry drove the basilisk fang through the diary, leaving a hole in it as proof that as a horcrux it had been destroyed. Dumbledore somehow destroyed Marvolo's ring, how exactly we don't know. But we know it was destroyed as a horcrux by the fact that the black stone on the ring had a crack down the middle after it's destruction.
A living horcrux is not a traditional horcrux and because of this it's far riskier to use a living being as one. With a traditional horcrux the horcrux maker can put it somewhere they believe it will be safe from destruction. But a living horcrux need not be destroyed to cost the horcrux maker that piece of their soul. All that needs to happen is for the living horcrux to die. And that can come from being murdered, being killed by accident, or natural causes.
Voldemort is risking his immortality by, as Dumbledore believes due to his fondness for the creature, making Nagini a horcrux. But he's not out to kill Nagini and thus would be more likely to make sure she's not murdered. He'd have to hope she doesn't die by accident or through natural causes though.
The same can not be said about Harry. Thanks to the prophecy, Voldemort wants Harry dead. As I've already said, he's not about to risk his immortality by making him a horcrux.

Harry is not a Horcrux. His death would have triggered the final part of the Horcrux spell. He didn't die, therefore the spell was not completed. No spell, no horcrux. The failed spell did forge a connection. A theory my wife and I have come with is that Harry's magic and Voldemort's magic are connected. The way Harry can defeat LV is to sacrifice his magic. Therefore LV will die and Harry will lose all his magic. Harry will live the rest of his life as a Muggle.

Voldemort tried to possess him in the 5th book and he couldn't bear it because of Harry's ability to love. Dumbledore tells Harry this. He gave Harry some powers when he tried to kill him but he didn't make a horcrux out of him. Dumbledore thinks that the snake is one and that is because of the control he has over the snake, even for a parslemouth. Voldemort does not have that control over Harry.
