How far away from a major city was it?

A) The Gove Peninsula, just outside Nhulunbuy, Northern Territory, Australia. You can only fly in or out with permission. Felt very remote as I watched a 25 ft croc float down the river - help (if needed) was so far away. And afterwards I watched my niece and nephew play on the beach with local aboriginal children. They weren't using the same words, but they were speaking the same language. Didn't feel remote at all then. An unforgettable experience.

B) 3am. Mid winter. Tokyo- no idea where- just been 'dumped' by my boyfriend. A 'little' too much to drink. No Japanese language ability. No wallet/money/ID- lost or stolen??? Also an unforgettable experience.

I stayed in this really hillbilly type place for two weeks with my boyfriend. We were about an hour away from a small town, and like a few hours away from an actual tiny city.

It was crazy. I never want to do it again. There was only one corner store and that's where the few people who lived in that area would do their shopping. People lived like a couple miles apart. And everyone was white, no integration at all. I'm Asian, so it kind of made me feel uncomfortable. It was not fun.

I was stranded on a island with Tom Hanks and a weird looking guy name Wilson,we use to play poker for coconuts to pass the time away, sometimes we would climb the mountain and see who could climb the fastest.Wilson would always win,and then Tom would help Wilson get down real fast by giving him the boot or should I say Albert's old gym shoes with no toes because Tom cut off the tops so they would fit his big feet. anyway after about four years Tom said lets build a raft out of trees,I said I don't know how,I then woke up about a day later and Tom and Wilson had that raft three quarters finished, for some reason Wilson and Tom were at each others throats about some extra rope somewhere on the Island,Tom was so pissed that one evening he took off for a couple of hours and came back with thirty feet of rope which we completed the raft and took off after the winds change, where somewhere along the trip Wilson took a dive and never came back this made Tom nuts, and I couldn't get along with him that way so I took a dive and was rescued by a yellow submarine from the UK. I never knew what happen to Tom or Wilson for that matter, anyway these four nice chaps from England took care of me and eventually got me back home to Russia where I work at a place called UPS.

the maldives. the island had only the hotel. of course there are many islands. but imagine being on an island with only the resort. it was fun, but as u said remote. it was 15 minutes by boat to the capital of the maldives which is on an island itself too. but that isn't a major city, the closest country is sri lanka.
