actually, its the other way around. capricorns wear their egos on their sleeves; be it even on a piece of rag. not hidden. id be surprise to find a humble and modest capricorn. i haven't yet, though. thats just how they are and how they want people to see them- otherwise they wont be capricorns.
caps tend to set and have their own standards or expectations- usually high standards in anything they do or want in life and they will work very hard to meet up to it.
same goes with meeting people. they will only mingle with those who they think can live up to their high expectations. if given the freedom to choose- they'd even want to pick their own family members and relatives that they want to be with.
getting to know them is like climbing up a very high rise wall. once you managed to get to the top- then only you'd get to see whats inside the wall. depending on how you perceive it- the inside might not be of any substantial depth as the height of the wall seemed to be.
but dont be discouraged or complacent if you will. the wall is and will still be there no matter what. only time and maturity will lower down the high rise walls as well as the inside of the wall becoming more substantial, bit by bit.
guess that sounds a bit cliche but thats the easiest form of analogy i could think of now.

I'm a cappy girl and I'm actually kinda quiet when I first meet people. I know a lot of cappy guys some are cocky but some are really friendly and down to earth. I'm a pretty humble person and I always try to be nice to everyone I meet but at the age of 26 I've realized being a doormat sux so if someone family,friend or stranger treats me like dirt I just stay away from them. It's not that I think I'm better than anyone I'm just tired of nasty rude people and drama!!!

They aren't Leo size cocky but throw in a few Leo placements in the right signs and they can give them a run for their money. Yeah they're cocky, they always have to be right , and it's sometimes grating but they don't do it intentionally and most of the time they can back it up. So yeah they are a little cocky but it's for a reason, so don't take it as them idle ego stroking. oh and I'm a Libra with a Virgo ascendant.

And to explain that i suggest the following idea. The Capricorns might have descended from Cancers and Sags. They indeed play between cancer and sag ---> not as steady and calm, or voluptuous for females, as Cancer, but still not as unpredictable as a Sagitarrius.
Further down this branch of genealogy would mutter the grandparents, Aries and Taurus. Indeed Cancer looks like a pumped up Taurus, with his/her nearly unvincible comfort, even bigger attributes for females, and the motherhood theme. And then, the Sagitarrius is like an Aries with self sufficiency. Hence, we have here a probable child of aries and cancer.:)

I've known a couple of Capricorn males and found them charming, confident, intuitive, entertaining, promiscuous, versatile, even smart but a little too intense & at times a bit off. Yes I'd say cocky . True self not revealed for awhile, play fast and loose with the truth.

by 'cocky' if you mean reckless, then - no. capricorn is more likely to have perpetual 'to-do' lists, and while cap doesn't shun spontaneity, it doesn't embrace it, either. as far as the 'hidden ego', well, it's not exactly, it's more like an iceberg. you'll spot some of it, but most is not immediately visible, not hidden, just not on display.
i'm, a libra, with a capricorn rising (meaning i have more of the external appearance and attributes of dear, sweer cappy, and a cancer/leo moon (exactly on the cusp)

Well, sometimes....But I can tell you right now it's definitely not done on purpose! It really doesn't bother me actually. I think it's kind of amusing. I only know three Capricorns. I told one of the Capricorns that he was cocky, and he stopped it right there. He blushed too; how cute... :-) I'm a Scorpio by the way.

I am Capricorn, however I am also honest.My dad, my brother, and my son are all also Caps, and I must say the males seem to have a hidden ego the size of Texas sometimes.
