I'm in an argument with one of my friends over whether the US is the only country with states. Can anyone answer this question?

DYOHM - Mexico has states - just south of the USA - you may have heard of it !!

Geez - I'm back after a hiatus from Y!A and seems nothing has changed.

The immediate 'thumbs down' confirms what I've just said, and they know that I'm pro- Democrat !!

No, many different countries have states. Some call them provinces or districts, but the structure is the same.

In fact, the United States of America is only one of at least three countries to be called the "United States".

Others include the United States of Mexico, and the United States of Brazil.

I am in favour of school choice and so would like to know which school you attend(ed) so that I can send my kids somewhere else.
