I have had 2 abscesses. One was also in my mouth, above my teeth, inside the gums. It was the most agony I've ever felt in my life. Granted, I have never given birth, but my mom told me she's had abscesses too, and also described the pain as being worse than natural childbirth. The pain in my mouth did not grow to a golfball size, but it was very bad. I went to a maxillofacial specialist where I had previously had my wisdom teeth out, so I trusted him. He had to slice through my gums to drain the abscess and that was the icing on the cake. I screamed so loud, the nurse had to shut the door of the room. Then I got some stitches to close it up. I was bawling as I paid the bill and left. Then I went across the street to the pharmacy to get the pain medication I was prescribed. I thought I had a file at that pharmacy, but actually I didn't, so I had to give the lady all my information, as I bawled and soaked up blood into the facecloth I was holding to my mouth. It was horrible. This whole ordeal was followed by an emergency root canal the next day. The root canal was a breeze. I actually was starting to doze off during it. But I hear you, an abscess is HORRIBLE. I just had one last week (not in my mouth), and my doctor pierced it with a needle and had to clean it out. I left with tears streaming down my cheeks again, but it wasn't as bad as the first one. Good luck with your appointment next week! :)

My first born weighed in at 12 pounds and 11 ounces. NATURAL CHILDBIRTH. And, no, I'm not the size of a Buick.
Then I had serious kidney trouble, which ultimately ended up with a kidney removal, and I swear, if I could have gotten out of bed in the hospital, I would have kicked out the air conditioner and jumped!

Kidney stones are worse. The pain of kidney stones is unbelievable, especially considering how tiny they are. The pain is nauseating. It's dull and sharp at the same time and it just takes you over. I've howled like a coyote in the ER with them. I don't have children, but I know women who have had both babies and kidney stones, and to a woman they all say the stones are worse. Ack!
So drink that water, baby!! :-)

definately. I had 2 kids, both natural childbirth. It's manageable. I had surgery last year and 2 days later my son accidentally kicked my incision. It busted open and had to be repaired, and that hurt worse than childbirth. I am sure there are many many things that are far worse as well.

When I saw your question the first thing that came to mind was kidney stones. They are awful, and can last for days or even weeks.

There is no worse pain than having your wife take the kids and permanently leave you over a misunderstanding.

all ppl take pain differently, and the body can only take so much pain then it just numbs itself. i would say being slowly tortured to death would hurt more than anything.
