I just started a course on screenwriting (that's writing movie scripts if you didn't know). Anyway I have no ideas right now. Anyone have an idea of a movie they would be interested in watching (with details please).

Even if it's not a huge idea you send, just give me a brief idea on the kind of genre you like (horror, romance, drama) and maybe (if you could) a really brief summary

I am writing a screenplay too although I'm just 11 years old. It's a biopic story based on the true story of Ancient China's Zheng He sailing down the Indian Ocean. (Sinbad was based on this story) I have recently thought about a screenplay of current events or situations. (e.g. online games) Teens and kids are too obsessed with online games nowadays that they can't help not playing it. Make a movie about this problem and how a family is broken just because of a computer. Story... A family of two children about the same age. They can only afford one computer. Easy. The two kids fight over who plays it and when who plays it. The father works in the computer industry. He keeps using the computer all day long and as some kind of eye disease. The mother has to stop the two kids from fighting and find a job and take care of her husband and be a housewive. Playing an online game of morphing into characters and going on MSN, ICQ, etc., the big kid meets a girl and tells her all the things about himself. Big mistake. The girl is actually a male kidnapper. He kidnaps the big kid and it's up to the family to save him. After calling the cops and finding enough money for the kidnapper who said he wants two million dollars, they go to the meeting place- a subway station. They give the person the money and the police comes. Big gang comes and big final fight happens. Of course, bad guy loses and gets arrested. The family learns that computers aren't that important after all. The end.
Another idea is about a kid and his penpal, a girl in Ontario. Their relationship gain and they fall in love with each other. Problem is that they can't see each other and didn't know how each other looked like. One day in the summer walking in the streets, the guy meets the gal and bumps into each other. The don't know that the other person was their lover. In real life, the guy and the gal are enemies. But in their letters, they love each other. Everything was caused by this big mistake and no final fight, it's a romance. They find out and say sorry and love each other and marry and blah blah blah.
Happy screenwriting! Remember the rules of screenwriting! (INT. and FADE IN: and - DAY and capitals for first appearence of each character and spacing and AHH!!)

I think you should write a screenplay about this poor girl who statrs a course on screenwriting and has no ideas for her script. She starts discussing it with all the kooky people she knows who give her lots of terrible ideas. Hilarity ensues (since this is a comedy.) Then, frustrated, she jokes "I should just write a screenplay about this poor girl who starts a course on screenwriting and has no ideas for her script." Suddenly there is a lightbulb over her head, as she realizes that's actually a really good idea that would be TOTALLY HILARIOUS. She discusses how she'll work in all these kooky people she knows. More hilarity ensues. Cut to: premiere of her movie after it has been made by a pack of film students. Everyone congratulates her, and camera goes to the screen where the movie is being played, and it starts back at the beginning of THIS movie again. Roll credits.

I'm using all my ideas, thank you very much.
Besides, with something like a screenplay, you should really write something you feel strongly about because you will spend a lot of time with it. Surely you have some kind of idea or you wouldn't have signed up for the course in the first place.
What ideas would you like to see brought to the screen? What kind of stories interest you?
If all else fails, look to myths or classic storytellers and update their stories for today -- there's a reason those stories have lasted. What about the story of Cupid and Psyche? What about a Shakespeare story? What interests you?

I wrote my first full length at age nine, which turned out to be a horror suspence/thriller. It was about a family who is terrorized by strange attacks, and the entire town thinks they're crazy. In the end, aliens attack....
Maybe try taking your favorite book and turning it into a screenplay. Of course, credit the books author, but thats a lot of fun! I've done that for several screenplays, and it's easier because the plot is alreday though out for you. Good luck!

If I answered this as you asked with details then I would be giving you the pitch. Gosh, then I should just write it.
Think about those crazy days that you have where things either don't work out, or work out just a little to neatly.
Think about the crazy people you either run into or see-- what's their story?
Hopefully your course will have all sorts of tools to help spark your creative juices.

Well.... you might do a sequence of skits, like SNL. My brother did one approximately an interview with three thoroughly specific persons for a role, he was once the hiring individual. The first individual was once a hippie the moment a homosexual-ish geek the 3rd a "rough man" It received lots of guffaws, and subsequently, once they all labored "difficult" (replied a number of questions, validated their potential) they discovered that the rent-individual already crammed the role months in the past. It received a colossal cheer, actually it was once usually the fine scetch there, as opposed to the How to be Cool scetch, wherein they talked approximately how one can be cool, all in deep cool voices with notable garments, then once they mentioned their names, the cooles one mentioned... jessica And my identify is !!! With "jessica" being relatively prime-pitched. It was once notable, so simply consider approximately some thing humorous!!!!!
