Your 325i's intake is not restrictive unless you take it all the way up in the rev band.

At lower revs, your air is metered... meaning that however much air you put in, it is regulated. So it wouldn't make any difference.

And, if you install either product, you will have additional (hissing/sucking) noise coming from your engine compartment, this takes away from the refinement of the car, and this happens at all rpms.

There's a general confusion when people talk about HP of cars. Horsepower would determine how fast your car can get (ie; top speed). But since the top speed of all cars in the US are goverened electronically anyway, it is moot to talk about HP.

TORQUE will determine how quickly you can accelerate... and at WHAT RPM the torque comes in also plays an important part about how quickly you can accelerate to a certain speed. Generally, the more LOW END TORQUE you have, the better it feels. This is why diesel BMWs are selling well in Europe. They provide most of their torque at low 2000's rpm. Whereas equivalent gasoline models will only give you their peak torque in the late 3000's to mid 4,000's rpm... they're economical to run too!
