Especially, when "the sons of God" were spiritual beings. You can't just leave out the spiritual part to make your conclusions fit your EARTHLY story. God is all about the life of the soul, life on earth, and the spirit life. When you cut out one of those of the three, it is counted as deception on your part. Your story begans to lack. INCOMPLETE.

As a Christian, I'm always amazed at the ways various religious sects interpret these verses. What really boggles my mind are the sects who insist that their interpretation is (must be) correct.

If you still believe in race, I guess it's possible that Black people have dark skin because they are *descendants* of the Nephilim. But they can only be Nephilim if all of them (at least the men) have as fathers the "sons of God". According to the bible, the Nephilim were the *male* progeny of the "sons of God" with "daughters of women", not the progeny of Nephilim and women.

Interestingly, the Nephilim were discovered by the Hebrews to be living in Canaan, not Africa (Num 13:33). But perhaps a group of Nephilim had migrated there.

I had to look up "Why are people different colors?" for my son. The current thought is that whites are descended from blacks who are descended from whites. Of course, this is someone's educated guess.
