Most fish go to sleep including Goldfish. They would sleep usually 7 to 8hours and all my fish sleep at usually 10:30pm to 5:45am or when something is moving close by the tank.

But some are nocturnal like Kuhlii loaches and plecos(bottom feeder suckermouth carfish) and certain corys. These just sleep later around 12:00pm and wake at 5:45am.

Hope this info helps

They don't sleep like humans sleep. They may just take short "naps" where they rest at the bottom of the tank, but they are never "asleep".

yes they do sleep. they usually sleep when it gets quiet in the house. but when you see them at the bottom among some rocks or plants, they are resting. you can see the pectoral or caudal fins move occasionally to keep the fish balance.
