I have purchased a HP Printer along with HP laptop. There is a reference in the manual about the memory card. I could not separately figure it out.Hence i have a doubt , whether it is fixed by default in its slot or manually to be fixed. And anyway what is the use of memory card in a printer?

Well.. I think u know abt memory card. Thats a small chip which has memory, where u can store some pics.

Generally, printer will print using the computer. But ur printer can work without computer. Yes! It can fetch images from memory card and it can be print.

we have lots of types in memory card. The Generally used memory card is Secured Digital (SD). You can place this memory card in ur camera... take pics..... print them without computer.

The slots in the printer are fixed for different types of memory card. Hope u understand. If u have any queries, feel free to ask asvanand@yahoo.co.in.

The memory in a printer is "fixed". It purpose is to cache the data that you are printing.
