I would just be blunt and ask if there is a team atmosphere or not. Explain that you want to work in a place where all of the staff members support each other because that creates a more successful environment. Be honest with the interviewer about not being interested in working in a negative environment. Don't make a huge deal about it, but do ask the question. The interviewer should be impressed that you are a team player. Good luck!

You should be given the chance to ask questions near the end of the interview. Ask the interviewer about the organization, what's the culture like, what do they like about working at the company. Be upbeat, give them a chance and they'll tell you quite a bit. Watch their reaction to your question - their physical response may tell you something before they ever say a word.

Quite honestly, if you did ask that question...you probably wouldn't get a straight answer. If they are interested in you and want you bad enough...they will brush things under the rug...
My best advice would be to make your own judgements. If you are being interviewed by several people at once, see how they interact, do they interrupt one another, do any of them look at the person that is speaking, what is their tone of speaking?
Good luck!!

In a job interview, say what you want to say in the most natural way. Do not create a barrier : other than thinking of what to ask/say, you are also thinking of the best way to phrase it.
You will lose your train of thought this way. Be natural. That will be most effective.
