Its called mission creep. We shouldn't have let him get away with that. I was all for getting rid of Saddam. If he didn't have weapons, he would have gotten them eventually and given them to terrorist to use on us. So I don't have a problem with that. But I'm totally opposed to this nation building stuff. And you missed a step.

It was first eliminate Saddam as a threat. There I'd say mission accomplished. Then it was free the Iraqi people. Here again I'd say mission accomplished. Now its create a stable democracy that will be an ally in the war on terror. I think thats a bridge too far. But I am for staying in Iraq and killing as many terrorist as we can. If we don't like the current Iraqi government I'd say get rid of them the same way we did Saddam.

For one thing he didn't change it. We did find WMD in Iraq and the means of producing them. Since the 90s our National policy was regime change in Iraq, this policy statement was approved in Congress and signed by President Clinton. Bush carried out the policy as directed by congress. And what was wrong with freeing the iraq people, didn't clinton justify the war against Serbia the same way?

Funny how you conveniently seemed to forget that the Congress, including the libs, thought there were WMD's too. As we all know (some just won't admit it) he most likely had them and moved them before we got there. Also was the fact that there were 18 resolutions in the UN before someone finally had the guts to do something about that tyrant. Why are libs so good at pointing fingers but NEVER take responsibility for their own actions?

First of all, the WMD's were there - they were moved to the Becca Valley in Syria. And no, Bush didn't change his "reason" - we needed to free the Iraqi people from a ruthless dictator and continue our fight against terrorism in the world.

No politition is willing to stand up and say it was a big mistake. We shouldnt have went in. Bring the troups home NOW because the conservitive right has people believing that if you want an imediate withdrawal that your not supporting the troops. What a mess he got us into. People say if we withdraw soon it will turn into a civil war. ITS ALREADY A CIVIL WAR over there and there is nothing we can do that will change that. Has anybody said that we have actually made the situation Worse over there since we invaded? I havent heard a politition say it.. Our troops are GREAT. What we owe them is to elect a Great leader to lead us into the future.
