04 Chevy Impala Tranny filter removal?

I'm replacing my tranny filter, but the old O ring is stuck inside. How do I get it out of the housing?

Use an inexpensive O ring pick set is available at any good auto parts store. I've seen them at NAPA and Car Quest.

If you are talking about the hard plastic like piece that goes in the hole, you could just press the new filter into it or take something flat and pry around the edges and break it and pull it out.
