My sister is fourteen years old, and her boyfriend is 18 (this is considered as a legal adult!). Yikes! I probably should mind my own business, but at times I can't help thinking about this: Is my sister hooking up with a pedophile?

Her boyfriend is now in college, with my sister in 8th grade, and we live in Washington. Is it illegal there?

Well, my sister insists that it's all fine and good, but I don't trust her boyfriend. He looks as if he might rape her one night.

An 18 year old and a 14 year old would not be pedophilia. However, one still has to be concerned that an 18 year old might pressure your sister to do something for which she is not ready. Fourteen is too young to be in a serious relationship. And definitely too young to be in a sexual relationship. This relationship could be neither, but... Watch for signs that your sister may be in too deep. Talk to her about it if you can. Discuss it with your parents if you must. Stay calm, but remain watchful of the situation. Be your sister's best friend and protector, even when she may not always see things that way.

If your sister is 14, she is under age and her boyfriend is playing with fire.
There is a reason they call girls like that "jail bait".
If he has any type of sexual contact with her it is considered statutory rape, and he can be prosecuted. (bj, hand job, intercourse, or any other type)
If convicted he will be registered for the rest of his life as a sex offender.
Doesn't matter is she consented, because at 14, she is not considered old enough to make a responsible decision about sexual activity.
She needs to find a guy her own age, and he needs to find a grown up girl.
Think about it, why would a 18 year old guy have any interest in a 14 year old girl?
He can only be interested if she is doing something with him.
(I know a 18 year old got a bj from a 15 year old and when her parents were finished with him, he went to prison for 7 years)

I don't know about being a pedophile, but this is illegal in some states.
Remember its not pedophilia if they are both in high school.
Now if the guy was 23 instead of 18 I would be worried. Many Freshman date seniors.

If he loves her and does not have sex with her then he is not a paedophile. If he has sex with her then he's more than a bit out of line and needs to be straightened up a bit

That is borderline, but I'd be concern too. 4 years is a big difference at that age.
