well, i wanted 2 be an actress but my grandpa said that wouldnt happen because we are poor. i didnt believe him at first but then i started thinking about it. miley cyrus has a rich dad, and i was thinking of all kinds of stars and they all either had money or a famous person in the family already, such as emma roberts. and then i tried to get an acting agency and they wanted $75 just for an audition and almost 3 thousand dollars for me to go 2 some "competition". the only person i can think of is ashley tisdale, they just came up 2 her. well, do you think this is true?

Your grandpa doesn't have a clue.
Some of the most famous actors in America started out
with nothing. I may be wrong but this acting agency sounds
like a rip-off. Three thousand bucks? Forget that!
Paying for acting lessons is one thing, but don't let yourself
get taken in. It could be that what you really need is practical
experience-go to auditions and see how it goes.

You don't have to be rich. Loads of famous people who were poor to start with. Look at Oprah! Don't give an agency any money for photos or an audition. You need to go to where the acting jobs are and go to auditions yourself.

It helps to have a lot of money, but you don't have to be rich. Demi Moore wasn't rich, and almost everyone knows her name. You can get into community theatre for free, and they will have "Actor Benefit" nights where you can earn money. When you earn enough, you can hire an agent who can book you auditions. It doesn't take a lot of money, really- just travel costs and the price for the agent. Starting off on the little things is better, it gives you experience so you could be able to have a discount and helps you earn a little money to your name. Good luck! :)

You just have to have passion and be good at what you're doing. People become famous for just doing things they love - take Bear Grylls for instance (just because I'm watching it now haha) - he's famous just by being so knowledgeable about survival skills and puts himself to the test and sells the show to Discovery Channel and Channel 4 in the UK and is a bestselling author. Or even just take the American Idol winners for instance - they're just regular people like you and me with incredible talent.
Keep positive about your talent.
But no, you absolutely do not need to be rich - you just need raw talent.

No you just have to be rich to get fleeced. Which is what giving 3000 bucks to be in an "acting competition" is. Acting competition, as if people go and watch dueling Hamlets. Actors get paid to be in things, they don't have to pay people.
Money, like connections, just makes it easier for half-talented or untalented people to get careers (see Marky-Mark). It also makes it easier to get things you most likely do need, like acting lessons. It also makes it easier for people to spend their time in expensive cities like New York and LA going on auditions for parts

NOT AT ALL!!!!!!!!! Don't you let anyone ever tell you that!!!!!!!!! You just need to make your talent known in school plays and auditions when they have them like at studios. You just need to keep your head high and have a positive outlook on life whether living in a cardboard bax or in jail witha rich dady like paris hilton.(GOD I hope she dies!!!!! = I)
