Darkness is the absence of light.

Particles of light (photons) move at 299,792,458 m/s. Darkness occurs when there aren't any hitting your eyes. Since they leave at the same speed they approach, you'd have to say the two speeds are the same if indeed "speed of dark" has any meaning at all.

Nothing known is faster than the speed of light, and there's good reason to believe that nothing with non-zero rest mass can accelerate to that speed, let alone past it, because it would require infinite energy to do so.

In the previous times that this question was asked, the best 'tongue-in-cheek' answer (meaning: not serious) is that dark is definitely faster because it is always there ahead of light.

However, in scientific tests (yes, they even test these things), the speed of a laser beam is the same whether it has interruptions in it (dark gaps) or is continuous. When the laser light is slowed down in some medium (e.g. glass or air), the dark gaps are slowed down at exactly the same rate as the light.

This is a matter of semantics not physics.

When you talk about light and dark, you are talking about adjectives that describe the current condition.

When talking about light, the radiation, you are talking about a physical thing – a noun.

Therefore it is nonsense to say the speed of dark – absolute nonsense.

It's like saying what is the speed of beauty, or the speed of tall.

Dark is the absence of light, so yes, as the photons leave an area of space, and dark fills the space as the photons travel away. It would be the same speed as light.

dark does not travel this is the opposite nature of two opposte things u only remove the heat and cold is automatically there u dont need to enter cooling if u just remove the heat u find cooling similarly dark does not travel if u remove the light there is a dark automatilcally or naturally
