No. Bats are in the order Chiroptera and rats are in the order Rodentia. They are both mammals and both is the Infraclass Eutheria but rodents are superorder Euachondtoglires and bats are superorder Laurasiatheria. In English, rodents and bats are about as the same as lets say a horse and a rabbit (alteration), or any other two mammals picked at random.
They're both a placental order it says here but it looks like primates and rabbits are more closely rated to rodents than are bats and even those aren't that closely related.

Bats are not rodents. They are in a different order. In fact, they are the only mammals that are capable of flight. Though there are gliding squirrels, they are not true fliers.
The ability to fly is what separates bats from all other mammals, including rodents. Plus bats do not have gnawing teeth like rodents.

NO! No absolutely no! Bats are in their very own class, and so on of mammals. They are not related to rodents in anyway. Sure the small ones look like mice, but look at the Fruit bats! Some look like foxes! Others...don't even look like rodents at all.

The bat is not a rodent. Bats are insectivores. Rodents do not truly fly though there are sailing rodents called flying squirrels. A bat is a mammal in the order Chiroptera.

Nope, they're of the order Chiroptera, in contrast to the rodents -- Rodentia. In fact, bats are more closely related to humans than to rodents.

New studies? I have NEVER known bats to be classified as Rodentia!! Ungulates??? Those are hoofed mammals!! Anyway, people tend to be afraid of things they don't understand, and most people don't know much about bats. Movies portray them as scary creatures and blood suckers, and people get scared of getting rabies from them. They can indeed carry rabies and should not be handled unless you have a rabies vaccination, BUT it is not all that common for a person to contract rabies from bats.

no. bats are in a different group - rodents are defined, at least partially, by their teeth. Bat teeth are more like carnivore teeth.
