For me it was 1980 when Ronald Reagen was running.

Never. Ron Paul is the best candidate I have ever supported and that includes when I ran for office.

Some of you obviously didn't read the question... it's not about how "exciting" Ron is as a candidate, it's about how excited "YOU" are about supporting him, and if you have ever been like that before. For me, never. I could care less about politics until about 3 months ago. I'd do my thing, vote for the lesser evil blah blah blah.

As Americans I would hope that you would be with us, or at least give him respectful disagreement. When your candidate comes off as respectable, I'll do the same (like I do for Gravel).

You are either with us, or against us, and you misunderestimate Dr. Paul's message. :)

Why do you like this nutcase?
He wants to deport people who were born here and know no other home.
Eliminate the IRS and income tax - ensuring the tax burden will fall heaviest on those who can least afford it.
Undo every move towards multilateral cooperation in dealing with the planet's problems.

More to the point - why do you get excited about a man who so far has been able to garner 2% of his own party's support. Seems a waste of excitement to me.

Why not find yourself a real candidate?

He'd make a decent candidate a pretty good speech writer or advisor. He's about as exciting as a free sample of Sominex.

Don't get me wrong, I'd prefer him over... well, anyone on the Liberal side, including John McCain, but "exciting"....

No.

I have never been excited about anybody else as I am about Ron Paul.

I can't dredge up anything for Ron Paul but relief that he doesn't have a chance at the White House. I have no desire to see someone who is an American apologist, actually thinks isolationism will work for us in this world, and wants to dismantle the CIA get within shouting distance of the Oval Office. I think he's a nutjob, with good intentions, but a nutjob just the same.

I am a Libertarian and have never felt excited about Ron Paul. He is boring, has no personal charm and no presence as a leader. Add to that his age and you have a non-runner right out of the gate.
