Most "rich people" who give money away do not do so directly, at least not in any sizeable amounts. Instead, they establish foundations which fund organized charities that run social programs that meet their criteria. For example, Bill Gates gives away millions of dollars through his foundation. If you want to get money from a rich person, you'll have to do it second or third hand, from a charity or organization that provides funds or services to people in your situation, whatever that might be.
