You're planning on your starter going two innings. But let's say, in those two innings, he gives up no hits and strikes out 4 or 5 batters, and the crowd is going nuts. Do you still pull him after 2 or do you let him start the 3rd inning?

You've got to pull him. I know they want to win to get home field advantage but they don't want to risk hurting the pitcher to win an exhibition game.

Probably not. I'd ask the pitcher 1st. Most are going on only a few days rest, not their normal, or will pitch in another 2-3 days. They don't want to over-work themselves. So I wouldn't force him out, other guys should get their time to shine too. Plus it's the AS game, doesn't mean anything to the guys regular season.

No pitcher is going to go more than one or two innings. They all have to be ready for their scheduled start, with their teams, when the second half of the season resumes.

No. making a guess became a important project in the early days of baseball. the main infamous became the Chicago Black Sox scandal in the 1910's. through fallout of this, the league set a 0 tolerance rule on playing on baseball...which became oftentimes forgotten till Pete Rose.

yeh, u let em stay in. as soon as u see the sign of him slowin up put in the nxt guy. i really doubt someone can throw a no hitter for 2 or 3 innings with all those great hitters. BUT a few years ago the Astros threw a no hitter against the Yankees.
So its a slim chance. lol

i'd let him start unless i absolutely have to pull him to get another pitcher in there to pitch, but i think it all depends on how that pitcher feels at the start of the third inning

I think you have to take them out because I think all the pitchers need to get some work in.
