I disagree. Everything in moderation is safer than soaring too high on your own wings. Soar too high on your own wings and your going to get burned.

Agree.
What it is saying, in my opinion, is that you cannot succeed extremely well without the help of other people. You can succeed to a certain extent, but without others, you will never be truly great.
I am sure that is true. All very successful people have people who are "the wind beneath their wings" or people who are in the background. Often it is a spouse, or people you work with.

I absolutely agree with this quote , to me is signifies how important our independence and free will as human beings is...
our Independence, if we soar on our Own wings than Nothing is too high too far or too hard to achieve.
so i say FLY!!!!!!! FLY HIGH!!!!!!!!!!
