They seem to be on the same witch hunt there were before they gained power. Looks like they would move on with the nations concerns. Like medical expenses, gas prices and so on. You know items that effect the people who they said they were going to help. They look to be a paper tiger. They have all the seats they need and still can't get anything done.

Nancy Pelosi promised sweeping changes in the 1st 100 days. So naming post offices is considered sweeping changes.

The problem is that in order for the Dems to pass a bill, they really need a large majority in Congress because if Bush vetoes it, they need to have a 2/3 majority in Congress to override. Also, it takes a 60 vote majority in the Senate to bring a bill to the floor for a vote, so the Republicans have the ability to block any bill proposed by the Democrats if everyone votes along party lines.
That being said, they have passed many bills, most important is probably the minimum wage bill, raising the wage from it's current $5.15 to $5.85 by the end of July, $6.55 a year from now, and $7.25 in two years.
It is the first raise in the minimum wage since 1998 (the Republican controlled Congress had voted it down every year during this time).

The Demos haven't done anything but give themselves a pay raise. Other than that, absolutely nothing has been accomplished as they promised.
But, Demos aren't the ones to be totally blamed. In fact, ALL of Congress is to blame. They are the best politicians PAC money can buy.
The sad part about this is that Americans keep voting for these clowns. Keep voting for them and you'll get nothing but the same old B.S.

First of all they don't have all the seats they need in the Senate as 60 votes are required to bring a bill to the vote. Second, they have passed a lot of legislation and if you are really interested you can look it up at Thomas.gov. Third as far as this American is concerned, they are doing the right thing in providing oversight to the executive branch.

Isn't it funny how after 6 years of a republican congress and president, after less than a year of a democratic controlled congress, It's all the democrats fault? Here a little lesson on how the government works. We have these things called checks and balances. This means the president can veto whatever he wants and congress cannot overrule him without a 2/3rds majority which the democrats do not have, so they don't have all the seats they need.
Your welcome for the lesson.

Well, the House has passed or considered 2951 bills in the five-odd months they've been in, or an average of 20 per day every day.
The Senate is lagging behind with only 1741, or just over 300 per month.

First, I am an Independent - no party affiliation. Also, I am totally nauseous over the lack of anything done by EITHER party for the past couple of years.
The Democrats have done nothing. But they will eventually do one enormous thing that the Republicans became experts at:
Spending the heck out of the private citizen's weekly paychecks! Mark my words. If WE don't try to vote all of them out of there then we deserve what we have and what we will get.
Amen.
