The quote I remember that I agree w/ is: Success is the best revenge.

This is different. It's basically saying that when somebody succeeds, there is always someone in competition w/them who didn't succeed. (failed)

I suppose it holds true in a lot of ways...
for instance, when different people are hoping to get the promotion but only one gets the position.

Could also hold true in the way that it isn't a success if it was something that anyone could have without effort/competing with someone else - If you think of success as meaning acheiving something that others fail to acheive.

they always say "we were all born winners" There are some losers bec they didnt want to recognize themselves as winners. We make our lives and therefore have the individual efforts to stand on greener pasture.

we see managers, owners, magnate and other great people. they became so bec they believed on what they can do and asked fot the help of a lot of p[eople to reach the goal. We dont neccessarily step on others' back to take another step up. "Success is a result of many hearts and minds who supported you." have a nice day. i'm sure you're one of the successful persons bec you started to ask this kind of question.

dlin333 makes a point and its true. I think that that quote applies to buissness sucesses. but it doesn't always have to. I think that it only applies half the time. an example would be presidantal elections. the winner was successeful but the loser failed . then if you were able to successefully build you own store in your neighborhood i don't see anyone losing or falling.

"Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is Alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange"

took this quote from an anime, and it has really influenced the way i think. as for your quote....i agree with it. =]
