no i know for a fact you can change your IPs. i have an IP changer and it works, but it doesnt work for a friend of mine.

you guys surely arent nerds.

If you're asking for an anonymizing proxy (i.e., a site somewhere out on the internet, which allows you to redirect all your web traffic through it, so that your local ISP-provided IP address is hidden, and their IP address is where you seem to come from)... then try www.anonymizer.com

You can't just use software to change the IP from your ISP. They assign you one, which is probaly dynamic. If you want a different IP I would try unplugging your networking equipment (like modem and router) for the night (or day) and you will probaly get a new one. (some isp's you have to wait longer than others to get a new one.

You IP address is given to you by your ISP when you dial in or connect. There is nothing you can do to change it other than reconnecting, and even then, you may get the same IP address as before.

none any good tech will still be able to find the originating IP

Turn off your modem and turn it back on. =] I guarantee you that works.
