In my OPINION it is because the beauty of the flower outweighs the thorns. This is just like every person in the world. Every person has their thorns, also everyone has something that makes them beautiful like the rose.

(Side note to the person who gave me a thumbs down. E-mail me and tell me what I did wrong!)

Yes this is true what you say but remember as someone once told me in a written poem the Thorns protect the Rose ......and if you really want that Rose you must be worthy of that Rose and the Thorns will always protect it even if it causes you pain in the end its worth it hen you can get past the Thorns and look and adore and smell and touch your Beautiful Rose :))))

To pick a rose is done for its beauty and fragrance to enjoy what it offers , even if it hurts by its thorns , now you can be smart , take a rag and remove the thorns before you pick a rose ... Metaphor for life's joys , you can do it the hard way or be smart about it .

"Why pick it in the first place." Right there is the answer. See something beautiful & want to "possess" it. Pick it & stick it in a vase for your short lived pleasure. (As well as the shorter life of the rose.) Oh, let the rose live, admire & love it as it IS in its own environment! (Literally, I never pick flowers. They're much happier where they are.) Look at the wilted rose in your vase. Then go & pick another! Nope.

Sometimes the rose is worth the thorns that you get trying to pick it.

Because the breif pain of the thorn does not take away from the beauty of the rose.

For the beauty of he rose ,I stand amongst the thorns.
For the exquisite pain of the thorns I endure the smell of the roses.

because the beauty of the rose and the joy you get from it should be worth the pain. the road to happiness isn't going to be pain-free. what you have to decide is how much pain you are willing to endure in order to have such an amazing, beautiful gift. And if the the beauty is not worth the pain then you'll have to find a different rose to pick. somewhere there is a rose for everyone if they are willing to accept it.

Without "a thorn" every now and again, one wouldn't be able to appreciate or gage the true beauty of "the blossom".
