Is It okay to use wood shavings for pregnant hamster?

The above poster is mostly right, but I dislike Aspen due to the irritating dust (aka-sawdust) that I find these products produce. I have seen many rodents and bunnies with some form of respiratory problem on Aspen, which went away after they switched to Care-Fresh (the recycled paper product).

So Care-Fresh bedding. Final answer.

Aspen is best of the wood. Stay away from cedar and pine, though kiln dried pine has very little oil. I like CareFresh the best for bedding.
