Yeah, so I have been feeling quite lonely lately. It is the weirdest thing. I have friends, we hang out and have fun all the time. But even when I am with them, I feel alone. This is so strange to me - I would think that you can't be lonely when your friends are around, but yet I am...

What have any of you done in a situation like this? I feel alone and removed even when I am with people. It almost seems like they are not there although I am right in the middle of interacting with them.

Then, when it is all over, then I REALLY feel that way. I feel like a freak or something. I feel like I don't belong anymore, but don't really want to go somewhere else and start all over again.

Okay, I am just rambling now, so I will stop. Please tell me any good ideas you have.

If anyone says something horrible, like I should just get it over with or something, I will report you. I am not a suicidal type and have no interest in such things.

Just havin' a bad couple of weeks.

Life is like a roller coaster...full of ups and downs. I have felt like this before too, so you are def. not alone. I am sure others have as well. I can assure you this will pass. Sometimes just breaking the routine can help you achieve the feeling of belonging and knock the loneliness out of the way. Give yourself a boost, make a change that people will notice, such as a new haircut or new outfit..something noticeable. The extra attention may help. It may be deeper rooted than that....is something going on in your life that could be affecting the way you look at things? If so then find a way to come to terms with this problem or situation. You could also try something totally different, such a new hobby which entails meeting new people. I sure hope these suggestions will help you thru this.

I have felt exactly like you, disconnected from everyone. What helps me is music. It seems to soothe my soul And gives me a connection to something that is uplifting. of course this depends upon the type of music you listen to.

Another thing I do is read a good book. When you become engrossed in the book it takes you to another place, time and world.

I think you need to look for new friends and get to know more people. I have felt that way many times too. When I got to know more people it was fun and I had different things to do and talk about.

May not be in all cases but it's certainly worth the try.
