If you have gotten a DUI, I am so sorry. The laws in every state are different but in general, you will have to make a "plea" in court and if this is your first offense, the prosecutor may offer you a deal. For example, maybe plead Guilty to reckless driving instead of DUI in exchange for...whatever they offer...sometimes it's probation plus community service, sometimes it's rehab. It all depends on what your case is like.

If you want more info on DUI procedures, go to this website:

http://www.totaldui.com

Irecommend this to people a lot. It is the absolute BEST and most comprehensive source of DUI information on the Internet, and it has state-by-state information and articles that can help you. You can also fill out a form explaining your situation and someone will contact you.

Good luck to you. Hope this answers your question.

You get the joy of going to jail. Spend some quality-time with hardcore criminals. You get to go to trial. Watch your license get taken away, your permanent record scared, get a ton of fines, and either more jail time or community service.

Its best you get advice like this directly from an attorney. Most offer free initial consultations. You can find a good DUI Lawyer in Riverside at the link below. I also put a few links for California Lawyers, Legal Advice, and Legal Articles.

You get a free night's stay at county lockup. You see a judge, get a date for your trial if you plead not guilty, or sentencing date if you plead guilty. If you have plead not guilty and are smart, you hire a defense attorney.

I know this guy who had this machine hooked up to his truck. It was a "breathalizer" and he had to blow into it to start the truck. It would even start beeping when he was driving, and if he didn't hurry and blow into it, the damn thing would shut off. Not cool!!!
