Not at all. I think they'd be thrilled to have an pro-war, anti-abortion ex-lobbyist who has worked for pro-abortion groups before, in addition to lobbying for brutal dictators. That's gonna sell really well with the undecided voters, because it makes Fred look like a paid shill. And, of course, that's what everyone is looking for in a president. I dunno, the more I hear about the "conservative" Fred Thompson, the more I figure I need to look back at Mitt Romney one more time, just in case I need a 2nd choice. Of course, Ron Paul is undoubtedly the most REAL conservative out there.

If they aren't they should be. He has the charisma of Raegan, and the oratory skills of Goldwater. He is one republican who can appeal to all conservatives. He doesn't have a religious background that is in question like Romney, and he doesn't waver back and forth on core conservative issues like Giuliani. So if he ever officially runs, he will be a "real" threat instead of a theoretical one.

If they're not scared, they should be. Unfortunately for them Hillary will probably get the nomination, she can't win, too many people would never vote for her. What they really should fear is a Thompson/Romney ticket.

No. The presidency is the Democrat's to lose in '08. It doesn't matter who the Reps nominate, the Dems have to completely blow it to undo the negative-halo effect of Bush II.
