It wont hurt you, no But if you do make sure you wear a tampon so as not to leave blood in someone's pool!

Absolutely, just use a tampon. You can do anything on your period you feel comfortable doing. You aren't sick or anything your body is just shedding the lining. But some women get painful periods and can't participate in sports due to pain, etc. If you feel well enough to swim, jog do aerobics or whatever than go for it. It won't hurt you!

I have endometriosis and am in horrific pain with my periods. But I often go swimming as it helps my cramps.

As long as you wear a tampon it's fine. Don't let your period control your life. Do whatever you would do if you didn't have it.
