I am so confused right now! I don't know who I am anymore! I am not a little girl anymore. I have grown out of wearing my hair in pigtails, wearing decorated socks, playing with Barbies and dolls, dressing like a tomboy, getting dirty, being a little schoolgirl, and thinking boys have cooties. But yet I don't really think I am a women. I wear my hair down, wear flip-flops or regular socks, hang with friends, dress sort of preppy and girly, hate looking dirty and grubby, hate school but like hanging with the people there, and I have a major crush on someone. Yet I love going to the zoo, love laughing, love to play sports, don't use a purse, and don't wear make up to school only on special occasions. I don't know what or who I wanna be anymore. I have gotten my period but does that really make me a women. There are some little kid things I have overgrown and other things that I like now that are grown uppy. I love shopping now, but I still love the oudoors. I hate this feeling. Help???

Just be who you are, and do the things that make you happy. Don't put too much pressure on yourself to fit some pattern or other, and "who you are" will become more clear to you as time goes by. Enjoy this time, too.. it's fleeting.

best of luck to you!!

Usually because the grown women want to wait for their life to be in order, money husband, house, financial stability and by the time everything comes together peri-menopause starst setting in causing her to use her nest egg on fertility treatments, ovulation kits, and drugs, and pretty soon she's pregnant with less money than before, a rocky marriage because of the stress of fertility treatments, the house is close to forclosure because of the money they needed for the fertility treatments. . . . . The median age for women to star families used to be about 25 years old back in 1980's, in the 1990's it rose to about 27 years, now it is up again. Women's ages are increasing with each decade creeping closer to that dreaded "expiration date" of age 35. Many more older women are starting families in their early 40's and late 30's. Hell some grandmothers have been getting fertility treatments and having babies at 50 and 60 years old! Also 16 year olds are looking for "love" in all the wrong places. With divorce as rampant as it is many fathers aren't around so they try finding that male role model and "love" in the arms of boys and men who just use them for sex and then leave them after they knock her up. Then they all end up on some talk show entitled "Are you my baby's daddy?"

It's called growing up sweetie. I'm in the same process.

You are young, enjoy it. Enjoy going to the zoo and what not, But, if you want to throw your flip-flops on and head to the beach with friends, who's stopping you?

Oh, and seriously, who doesn't love to laugh?

Being grown up doesn't necessarily mean giving up the things you love.

Darling this is all part of growing up. When I was about twelve I hated to give up playing with my dolls, but I was afraid people would make fun of me if they saw me playing with them. It will all work out. To your own self be true. Just be you and don't apologize for it.
