GOtta rant. Okay, so I'm about 7 1/2 months pregnant...and pretty darn round and waddle-y, and I'm aware of that. But I walked past a group of teenagers today at a store, and one boy said, "DAMN SHE FAT!" I could have turned around and snapped that little idiot's neck in half. Luckily for him some little girl he was with started explaining to him the difference between being fat and being pregnant, so I just kept walking like nothing happened because it sounded like she was giving him an earful. But I had no idea that there were TEENAGERS who didn't know what PREGNANCY looked like and would be so rude as to yell at a pregnant lady about her size. I'm pregnant, not fat...I've only gained about 10 pounds! I think that's pretty good!

Did anybody else have rude comments made about them during pregnancy?

When I was pregnant, I went to a girlfriend's house for her baby shower (our babies were eventually born ten days apart), and I was probably eight months at the time. One of our friends from high school was there, and my girlfriend, me, and this particular girl were all in her baby's room looking at how she had decorated.

Somehow, the conversation turned to bellies and my girlfriend and I ended up showing ours to her friend. I said I was reluctant to show mine because I had gotten stretchmarks.

She turned to me and said, "That just means you didn't take care of your body...If you had laid off the Mcdonalds, you wouldn't have to be embarrassed of your tummy!"

I could have smacked her across the face. What ignorance. I mean, couldn't she at least have said it behind my back? I mean, really...Some people are so stupid. If she had known the menu I was sticking to, she would have kept her mouth shut! Just ignore people like that. Kharma's a *****.

OMG, if someone said that to me I would have went off. You reacted better then I would have. Good for you. Thats sad he doesnt know what pregnant looks like. I haven't gotten any rude comments yet (only 13 weeks with a small tummy) but I have gotten a lot of old people saying "is the father around?" I look young so a lot of people think I am way younger than I am and think I am a young college student still so they make assumptions and I just say "na the father wont be around, but yours will be" or I get a lot of people saying "you should do this, you should do that, or should you be eating that?" and at first I thought it was nice getting advice but now I'm ready to scream at them to shut up.

Well at a lil party a lady that my fiance works with came up to me and said oh you look so much bigger from the last time I saw you(witch was two weeks ago and I haven't even gained a pound since then) then she just started touching my stomach and said are they sure its not twins your so huge!!! As much as I tried not to I started to cry I know I'm pregnant and getting the big O belly is suppose to happen but someone shouldn't call a pregnant lady huge thats just rude!!!

I had a somewhat heavy teenager tell me that I needed to go on Jenny Craig. I was about 8 months pregnant and had preeclampsia. My brother-in-law was with me and told her that at least I had an excuse for being big. MOST of the time, it is just people thinking that they are funny, but it really isn't for a very hormonal pregnant woman. People just do not think sometimes. Congrats on the pregnancy. I think that pregnant women are so cute (not in a weird way). GOOD LUCK!!

What an idiot I sware, & your right b/c if a TEEN jesh not even a preteen or child, has the nerve to say that its so dumb its almost unbelievable...and ten lbs is better than good thats great! I don think Ive ever known a pregnant person whos gained so little

And with SO MANY teen girls getting pregnant these days you would think that teenage guys know what pregnancy looks like, I see it almost all the time in school sad to say.

Yeesh, yeah. My son's 10 months old now, so those irritating comments are still fresh in my memory.

I pretty much did as you did, save for one or two occasions where I snapped. Once I merely turned around and said, "No, dear, I'm 8 months pregant, and I sincerely hope my son grows up to have better manners than you." The other time I actually had a pregnancy themed shirt on, so I turned around and asked the kid to read my shirt. after he did, he had that "ohhhh, I get it" look on his face. That kid apologized, to my surprise.

Next time it happens, try what I did, or even better, ask the kid if his parents were nearby... that scares em poopless!

good luck, congrats! Hugs!

I know what your talking about!!
Today as an one example, a woman at work said "oh your getting so big, maybe they made a mistake and its twins", "when are you due again? this month?"
I'm due in november! lol
Every woman's pregnancy is so unique, its just too bad that pregnant women have to endure rude comments especially when its such a great and happy time.
Hang in there! Stay Positive!

I am an elementary school teacher and I am well know throughout the school system. While I was visiting the middle school an eigth grader approached me and said, "God, You're huge. Are you having twins?" And she wanted to rub my tummy. I can't stand that. I was only 6 months pregnant and had only gained about 10 pounds at that point. I gently lifted her hands off my tummy and said, "That's right. There's a baby inside." and walked off.

I never had ignorant comments from children always from adults. I once had a women tell me God you must be pregnant with twins. I am a heavy set, but I do not look as heavy set as most. When I was pregnant I showed more than most women my size.
One other time someone said: She wobble and wobble but she don't fall down! Thank kinda made me mad but you can say OK that is a kid in you situation, but when you have stupid adults it is a different story!!!!!
