I started reading Goosebumps when I was about 7 years old. I think before that, the reading would be too difficult, too scary, or both. They're scary when you're young, though I'm sure if I were to read one now I'd just laugh.

My favorite was probably "One Day at HorrorLand." I think that's the right title... Anyway, I remember that one being particularly frightening, though the first one I ever read was "Be Careful What You Wish For."

I miss Goosebumps!

When I was little, I thought that they were pretty scary. I read them when I was in second and third grade, and I think that they are very appropriate for that age group. I don't remember the name of the one that I liked most, but I remember that it was about a creature that looked like a sponge.

I'm sure that these are the books that introduced me to horror literature, and cannot possibly thank R.L. Stine enough.

They are mildly scary... more thriller than scary, though. I started reading them in 2nd grade, but really got into them the rest of elementary. My favorite is Night of the Living Dummy. I also loved Welcome to Camp Nighmare. If I were to make any suggestion, it would be to check them out on Amazon because some of the used copies go for as little as a dollar and you can't go wrong with that.

R.L. Stine's FearStreet books are amazing, too, once your child gets into their teens. My favorite book EVER is still The Prom Queen.

They are the most righteous books ever. I read them when I was younger and loved them.

1.Some of them are very scary.
2.Good for 5th graders (at least that's around the time when I was reading them)
3. Oh geez--it's been so long. The one about the guy who turned into a plant in his lab.

Thanks for bringing back some great memories. : )

They aren't really scary. My daughter started reading them when she was nine, and she's still reading them every once in a while. She's twelve now. I believe she'll outgrow them soon though.
