Can tornadoes develop in Alaska?

ANYTHING can happen. I believe they can develop anywhere as long as the conditions are right.

however, according to this page they are ranked dead last amongst the states, 50/50, in tornado frequency.

Yes they can and yes they have. They can not develop in the Anchorage area because the basin, surrounded by mountains on 3 sides and inlet on the other, is too small to even permit thunderstorms. In other southern regions, there have been tornadoes during the summer but they are very rare.

Tornadoes can develop any where, but it is less likly in
Alaska.

tornadoes can form anywhere. they are not all that likely in Al, but they can form there nonrtheless

If the air is hot enough, yes, but I have yet to hear about one.

no - you need flat open space and hot air clashing w/cold.
