And the US will become just like Mexico

I think it's because the USA is going after the natural resources of Mexico {oil, Silver, cheap labor, etc.} and Canada {oil, oil shale, natural gas, timber, Gold, etc.} with this NAFTA proposal.......And at the same time it will make the U.S. Constitution null & void, which may be Bush's and the other neo-cons ultimate goal.

Ron Paul seems like the only candidate that wants and intends to do everything in his power to keep the USA intact as a "Self" governing Soveriegn nation, now it's up to we the people, MILLIONS OF US grass roots supporters, to keep that dream alive by first nominating him and then voting for him as the next President of the United States of America!
Thank You!

No - Bush won't close the borders beause the Mexican American vote is the single largest piece of political "frontier" out there to be conquered.
Both parties are jockeying for the mexican vote because they are getting more organized, reproducing at staggering levels, and they vote in blocks.
The Democratic platform of social justice and civil rights plays well within the community, but so do the Republican platforms of traditional families and faith.
The Republicans are so afraid they are going to loose this goldmine that they're not willing to do anything beyond talking tough.
Likewise, the Republicans are also in jeopardy of losing their traditional supporters by appearing to lenient or not doing anything about illegal immigration.

It's because he needs cheap labor to keep on making money with his wealthy friends. He's actually willing to take the risk of another attack just by NOT securing our borders. True it's not just a Bush thing, Clinton, Reagan, the other Bush and so on should have been enforcing immigration laws and securing our borders...Heck, some idiot attacked Iraq because they were a "threat to our national security"....Our borders being unlawfully crossed is not a threat to our national security? How politician's do pick their "pet projects"...at our expense.

Only my opinion, but "closing" the borders involves building a heck of a lot of fences, which must be patroled, can be flown over, tunneled under and circumvented any number of ways, including by boat through the gulf of Mexico. How did all the Cubanos get to Florida...Duh!
On the other hand, make it impossible for illegals to work, get welfare, get medical care, etc. and they won't want to come to the "land of the big PX" so badly.
Our laws on illegal immigration should be a direct reflection of our neighbors' both north and south. No tolerance-jail-no questions asked. No benefits, no more illegal problems. K ;o)

I think we should annex Mexico as the 51st state. the people crossing the borders just want to make a living, you can't fault them for that.
I think the average Mexican citizen would see an improvement in their lifestyle if we made the big land grab. The government down there is more corrupt than ours, and is just horribly ran.

I think he doesn't close the border, because he realizes if he does a head of lettuce will cost the american consumer $5 +

No, he won't close the borders because half our trade profit comes from Mexico.

No. The non-enforcement of immigration law has been going on a lot longer than that, and Bush's stance is just a continuation of that longstanding policy, which is based primarily on demographics and economics.
