Her district is not competitive. As another person has answered above, her district includes Berkeley. Berkeley was the foundation city in the Movement. It started out with a supposed free speech movement. The Movement was funded with Communist money as recounted by the late Abbie Hoffman who was one of the Chicago Seven. Ron Dellums - who was her predecessor in the District - went on to become mayor of Berkeley. Hoffman even did the planning and filming of Woodstock, only to be marginalized so that it did not appear to be orchestrated by the Communist Left.

San Francisco has long been a hotbed of Leftist dissent. Harry Bridges - the Communist Australian and longshoreman - was centered there. See the dissent of Justices Roberts and Frankfurter in BRIDGES v. WIXON, 326 U.S. 135 (1945)

The reality is that there are parts of the USA that are not really part of the mainstream. Senator Sanders in Vermont is another example.

Most of these people were either red diaper babies or were radicalized during the freedom rides or the anti-Vietnam War Movement. The one mistake in dealing with these people that Bush has not made is that he has not instituted the draft. Without the draft, these people are limited to influence, as opposed to the mainstream.

My view is that these people will never amount to much provided that the ending of the War is not a Democratic accomplishment. It was Richard M. Nixon who knew this. He was hated so much, because he denied the Left their victory. He was even against the draft. It is all right for William Kristol to be defending the war in Iraq and saying that Senator Lugar is a defeatist. The reality is that we should have got in and got out of Iraq.

So I agree with you, Lee should be unelectable, but in Frisco and Berkeley, anything is possible, so long as the person is a Leftist from central casting.

I don't know but she's one of the reasons why I hate living in California.
You should see some of the others we have here running this state.
It's absolutely pathetic.
For example a lady (I can't remember her name off hand) who was trying to make it illegal to drive while talking on a cell phone had several accidents all in the same day while talking on her cell phone.
I think she's one of the San Francisco City Supervisors and the excuse they gave for her doing that was "She has Leukemia and was taking medication which caused her accidents".
They have excuses for everything when it's one of their own that screws up.
But that's the kind of people we have as elected officials in California.
It makes me sick living here amongst those people who are quite frankly crazy and there's nothing we can do about it but move.
I hope and pray in 2008 Barbara,Diane and Nancy Pelosi are all voted out of office and in their place we elect people who we can trust to make the right decisions and will do the job that we tax payers pay them to do.
But unfortunately because of the types of people we have in this God forsaken state that vote I doubt that will happen.

What percentage of people (out of the total number eligible in the community) actually vote for a rep? Maybe 12-20%? If your people are motivated enough, any whacko can get elected to the house no matter how small their following really is.

What's our government coming to? I mean, just when you THOUGHT the government was bad...then you find out things like this about your elected officials.

You should check out the White House cabinet members and then do an internet search. Scarey people that "W" has appointed. Investigate the head of the EPA and the program that almost cost him his new job. (The EPA was going to test pesticides on infants in the Jacksonville area.)

Read about the head of the Dept of Education and how she wants the Catholic Church to educate children in public school as part of "No Child Left Behind". Of course the RCC will get mega bucks (from us tax payers) to tutor them.

Scarey stuff...what ever happened to seperation of church and state? (Something completely foreign to the vocabulary of the Catholic Church by the way.)

Well, Berkeley and Oakland are in her district, it's no wonder that they would elect a communist sypathizing, race card playing, jew hating, muslim terrorist supporting left wing nut. Aren't those pretty much the qualifications for the ultra left wing socialist liberals.

If you think she is bad, check out this liberal, Islamic fascism sympathizing gem.

Not much different than the people in Massachusetts who keep voting for Ted Kennedy. Just makes me shake my head.

is it now not simply as racial to have a "black chamber of trade?" simply as it's black historical past month, the united ***** university fund, and the entire different black firms. if there have been "white" firms, then it could be racist, however now not for the blacks, and the way is that exceptional, it's nonetheless racism, natural and functional

Simple. She represents an anti American district. Unfortunately, there are several of those. San Fran Nan is another example. "Baghdad Jim" McDermitt is another.
