I am friends with this guy for 2 years and we are really close. I am not the perfect friend but when he needs I am there to comfort him and to be kind. I love pleasing him and whatever he askes me to do even if it's the most crazy stuff. I am leaving the country and I told him I was sad as hell to leave. He wouldn't say a thing to comfort me or showed any pain from my depart.
I asked him if we could meet and talk cuz I was in need of a friendly shoulder, however, I wonder if it's not a shame to ask for something the other should offer you without need asking, since I was there when he needed.
What do you guys think?

If that's true then it sounds like you got USED by him.

Chalk it up to a learning experience.

There's nothing wrong if you need his friendly shoulder once in a while especially that you are about to leave soon. It's your friends turn to be on side for once before you leave and he there for you also in return for all are doing to him before.

I think it is sad that your friend has not reciprocated and been there for you. I would forget about it and see how things are when you return to the states. Maybe he isn't the friend you thought he was but maybe he is and doesn't know how to show it.

Its possible that with you leaving anything he says to make you guys closer is just going to add to the pain he is going to feel with you leaving. Its quite possible he is giving you the cold sholder because of this

Maybe he is sad you are leaving to and thats the way he is dealing with it, by acting like he doesn't care.

I think he is one of those people who deals with heartbreak/issues on his own, or tucks them inside. it is really his problem, and I think if you try and draw it out of him he will be open with you. and you will both feel better,

i think

be clear enough to ask for what you want

then maybe you get it, if you can't just ask clearly, then you probly don't
