It is like "isolationist" is an explitive for certain people. Just label someone an isolationist and then everyone will avoid him like he is a child molester.
North Korea (a left wing country) is a great example of isolationism. Nobody or nothing goes in or out without absolute government permission.
Ron Paul's idea is this: let people keep the money they earn, the government doesn't have massive amounts of money to waste on foreign aid, the USA has peaceful relations with all countries, our military defends our borders, free trade is legal between the USA and other nations.
Anyone who thinks that is isolationism is either ignorant, not very bright, or dishonest. So why do all these people call him an isolationist? Are they afraid of freedom and limited government?

They like to equate isolationism, with just minding our own business. Now, I don't believe it will be an easy path, that dismantling our defenses will mean we are automatically safe. I think we'll be safer, but we've passed the point where everyone will leave us alone. Why? Because we haven't minded our own business. He thinks the markets are better than the government and he's right. Unfortunately, people believe that government intervention is the only way, which is utterly incorrect.

Is this your first campaign? Welcome to politics...people lie about anything they can. And, of course, it's much easier to lie about someone who doesn't have the press behind him, because he's got so few outlets to get the word out.
They call him isolationist because it's an unpopular word. That's the only reason. That, and the fact that there's some smidgeon of truth, in that he wants to interfere in other countries much less than any of the other candidates. Apparently, everyone else thinks it's our job to meddle in every other country's affairs. I think the people of this country are a lot more supportive of non-intervention than the politicians are.

Because it's no lie. He IS an isolationist. Not as extreme as Kim Jong Il, but an isolationist none the less. Let me assure you that I am well informed, smart & honest.

They don't call it lying, they call it "political spin". It's politics, the Neocons can spin it one way, and Dr. Paul can spin it the other, whoever puts the best spin is judged by how many votes Dr. Paul picks up come primary time

They can see support for Dr. Paul growing and they don't have any real dirt on him, so they have to make things up.

I don't believe they do lie about it. His actions and intentions are a pretty good indicator that he is.
