Gore’s mansion, located in the posh Belle Meade area of Nashville, consumes more electricity every month than the average American household uses in an entire year, according to the Nashville Electric Service (NES).
The average household in America consumes 10,656 kilowatt-hours (kWh) per year, according to the Department of Energy. In 2006, Gore devoured nearly 221,000 kWh—more than 20 times the national average.
Last August alone, Gore burned through 22,619 kWh—guzzling more than twice the electricity in one month than an average American family uses in an entire year. As a result of his energy consumption, Gore’s average monthly electric bill topped $1,359.
Natural gas bills for Gore’s mansion and guest house averaged $1,080 per month last year.
In total, Gore paid nearly $30,000 in combined electricity and natural gas bills for his Nashville estate in 2006.
Do you know how his Dad made money. Oil/GAS.
Do you send your money to him like a fool=carbon credits.

I think that his book is full of inconsistencies and he needs to do more research before he spouts off that we are doing enough for the environment.
I think that he is a good candidate for scaring that American people into think that Global Warming will damage the environment in the next few years. Who the heck does he think he is? The Earth undergoes regular climate shifts, as well as pole reversals (BTW which we are about 10,000 years overdue for).
As for Mr. Gore putting in solar panels, I think that is a bunch of crap. Just to break even he would have to install at least 110 individual solar panels. Each panel would be 2 by 3 feet in size. So he would not have enough roof space to put them on, it would have to be a series of stands near the home. Remember the farther away the electricity has to travel is will lose voltage so more panels will need to be installed to make up for the lost energy. This is based on a average of 180 watts per panel. With an estimate cost of 150,000 dollars just to have all of the equipment and to tie it into his homes grid.
As for Carbon bucks, what a scam. This is the only thing that Mr. Gore has come up with lately to remain in the national spotlight.

I believe that the former vice president is another dis-genuine person to speak on the issue of global warming and the enviorment.
I believe that this carbon credit is a scam to take money from people. It may be an idea with good intent, but it sounds askew. We are all in a rush to save the planet, but the thinking is not being inventive in the positive direction.
The only thing that will help our enviorment is to recycle, reduce and reuse our waste or garbage. Anything else is criminal!!

I hope you bought a bunch on your way to New Zealand, I just heard they are gonna put them on the stock market. It`s probably Al Core`s idea. That man sorta reminds me of a slippery pole cat.One of these days I`m gonna write an expose` on what is really happening to the enviroment, like our milatary shooting them nuclear bombs at them U. F. O`s in Nevada creating the hole in our ozone layer. Also, about those space rockets shooting into space-it`s tilting our poor planet off it`s axles-that`s whats causing all the killer storms etc. Good Greif , I must open up some people`s eyes.

Gore recognized the inconsistency; so he's had solar panels installed to heat and light his house. And, to a point, he travels by commercial jet, rather than private, whenever he can reach his destination by commercial jet. In other words, he avoids added yet another aircraft to the sky when he can. Oh, and he drives a hybrid. Do you drive a hybrid, and where are your solar panels?
Your reference to his dad's income source as a reason for Al Gore's global warming warnings is totally illogical...if Al Gore were beholding to Oil/Gas interests, he would not be espousing mankind's contribution to global warming. To the contrary, the petroleum industry is a major detractor to the idea that we can do something about the extent and rate of onset by cutting back on petroleum energy use.
Do you really think the petro industries want us to cut back on using oil and gas? That would be like Hershey's telling us to cut back on chocolate because it leads to obesity. Think, man, think.

No matter how good you are or how bad he is, how is pointing fingers going to help? Spend some time working to fix the problem instead of blaming others. We're all guilty, to some degree or another, and if we want to make this a pissing contest, we'll end up floating in one big ocean before we get to solving the actual problem.

I don't buy into it. I really don't know what to think of Al Gore. It is hilarious that some Hollywood types seem to mitigate their personal guilt (i.e. their lifestyles) by supporting this cause.
Beyond emotion I doubt any of them could rationally discuss the topic with much depth. I know I can't.

I didn't know Gore lived in Frist's neighborhood too (assuming Frist still lives there, I know he did in the 80's). Go figure!
No, I do not and would not send him a penny.

Al Gore is one thing and one thing only: A politician.
Politicians aren't scientists. All they want is popularity and attention and they'll say or do anything to get it, even if its blatant hypocrisy.
