They won't stop calling. Period. You can write them a letter demanding they stop contacting you and they are legally required to do so. They won't, but they may harass you less. Include her contact info in the letter. If possible, get a number to FAX her information to them. Every time you hear form them, add the date, tame, any any other information you can get from them to an extremely detailed letter explaining that you are not the person they are looking for. Fax entire letter, along with as many supporting documents as you can find to them. When they realize that calling you results in a 20 page fax, they will get tired of replacing supplies for the fax machine. If they threaten to sue for harassment, DARE them to do so. You only have to hint that you will counter sue. They are harassing you, not the other way around.
d4dave (above) is mistaken. They are not trying to get her contact information from him. They already have it and are harassing her as well. What they are trying to do is get him to pay her debt so they will go away. As he said, they only care about collecting. They don't care from whom.

This is being done deliberately to annoy and anger you and your husband into either giving up the ex's new phone number and address, or calling her yourself and getting her to deal with her problems herself, or even to get you and hubby to pay the bills yourself. You have to keep in mind, these people do not care one bit who they hurt, who they anger, who's lives they impact or if they damage innocent people. They care about one thing and one thing only; GET THE MONEY ! If you get angry, upset, cry, shout, give up addresses and phone numbers that is EXACTLY what they want. They want you involved in solving THEIR problem, which is getting the money. Tell them ONCE, calm, cool and collected that you are not part of the indebtedness and you have no information for them. Then put them on IGNORE. Letters go directly into the garbage UNOPENED. Phone calls get either screened ( if you can ) or if you answer then simply quietly hang up. Do not display any emotion at all. Do not argue with them. Do not try and defend yourslves. IGNORE ! IGNORE ! IGNORE !
It will take some time but they will stop pestering you eventually. IF they think they have any claim on you they will start legal proceedings at which time you can defend yourself in a court of law. If you KNOW there is no legal claim then the best place to be is in front of a judge because he will rule in your favour and block the collection agencies from contacting you again.
Other than any of this, you can contact a lawyer and pay him to deal with the mess. Your choice.

Send them a copy of your husbands divorce papers with a Statutory declaration that he has not been responsible for any debts incurred by her since that time. Also, place an advertisement in your main newspapers stating same.
Forward all mail received by your husband and you to her stating that if she does not notify them of her new contact details your husband and you have no other choice than give her details to these agencies. Your husband also needs to inform her of the advertisement and prohibit her from using his name and contact details when applying for loans etc. It appears to me she has used his name etc., to obtain credit.
The other option is to seek advice/assistance from a Solicitor/Lawyer.
Good luck.

Give the collection agency her contact information and have your number changed. If you never took legal responsibility for her bills you should not be libel for them.

You need to make sure your name and address is not listed in the phone books, I believe there is a nominal fee for this, but it's worth it. Make sure you have signed up for the national do not call list and change your number if you need to.

No need.
Just send a certified letter demanding they stop calling.
That's all you need to do.
If they call again, you can sue them for up to $5000 for each subsequent occurence.
