Bermuda is great..and you can get seeds.....If you live in a poor soil or sandy soil condition, and high heat area...search on internet for what is called "pensacola bahia"..it handles any soil and extreme heat and grows hearty...

Well you could use St. Augustine but they can get thirsty and you could use Bermuda grass which can take over your patio if you don't keep it under control. They both spread out with stringers that travel and root and if you don't keep them cut they can take over your flower beds. Check with your local garden nursery because you didn't give your zone which greatly affects choice.
