I can't remember a good string of the lyrics, but the song was released in the late 90's or early 2000's about a woman who packs up her car and flees an abusive husband in the middle of the night. At the end of the song she reveals that she could have lived with his abuse, but couldn't live with herself if he ever hit her daughter, who is in the car with her. Its driving me up the wall to not be able to remember!

I think you mean Me And Emily by Rachel Proctor. it is off her Where I Belong CD, she is a little known artist but it was released in 2004. the video is below in the sources section
