Okay, so I have already seen an ob/gyn and at the moment I am 13 weeks and 1 day pregnant (according to them) Anyways, I am 18 and only weigh 112 pounds. I haven't really gained any weight and I am kind of scared. Yes, I have talked about it to professionals...I'd just like to hear it from the public. What do you think my chances are??

omg honey, youll be fine! :) worse comes to worse, if the baby is big you might need a c-section, but there are plenty of small women who deliver vaginally no problem! once you get into the pregnancy, your body will know what to do, and adjust accordingly. most women dont gain much this early anyway, the most weight is gained in the third trimester actually. (sometimes the second, but baby grows most in the 3rd) i was 18 when i had my first and started at only 120 lbs and had no complications or a hard delivery. good luck to you!!

I was 17 when I got pregnant and at 5'6" I weighed 120. I didn't gain any weight until my last appointment at 20 weeks 6 days and even then I had only gained four pounds. I just turned 18 and I'm now 24 weeks 3 days and I now weigh 130. I go to the doctor tomorrow for my glucose test. They were never really worried about my weight. You really don't have to gain any weight until your second trimester. Don't worry if your doctors don't. Very thin women carry and give birth to very healthy babies all the time! Just as long as you eat well and excercise don't worry.

You usually don't start gaining wait seriously until like 4 or 5 months, so as of right now I wouldn't be worried. There are plenty of small women who get pregnant and have a perfectly healthy pregnancy. I wasn't one of those women, I'm 20, and I weighed about 135-140 pre-pregnancy and weight 180 (i think) now, and I still have 5 weeks to deliver, so I've gained about 40 pounds. But rest assured, the weight will come, and you will have regular checkups to make sure everything is progressing okay. :P

I was 19 when I got pregnant... 110 pounds. The first trimester, I didn't gain a pound... by the time I had my daughter - I had ended up gaining 40 pounds... thats 40 pounds just in my 2nd and 3rd trimester. Don't worry so much about weight gain. It just adds stress to your pregnancy.

You also have to remember, the baby is only a few ounces right now. It's not until later that the baby and the fluids and all that start putting weight on to you.

Its not that unusual not to gain weight in the first three months, morning sickness may not allow you to eat.
If you eat normally the next three months will see your appetite pick up and both you and your baby will be fine. You don't say how tall you are or if you have an eating disorder, then its a different story, one that requires that you see someone professionally and make sure you take your vitamins. But if you are just naturally thin, or short there won't be a problem as long as you eat a variety of healthy foods, in normal, not small quantities.

You will do perfectly fine through the pregnancy. your only 13 weeks which is still a little early. but you will gain weight throughout the pregnancy. You will be just fine. When I was pregnant with my first I weighed the same as you. I lost about 10 pounds in the beginning then I started to gain. Just get rest when you need it and eat healthy. Don't eat til you are stuffed just eat when you are hungry and enough to satisfy yourself. You will need to eat several times throughout the day. Drink plenty of water and if you need a soda don't feel guilty that you had one. If you smoke quit and just listen to your body! Congrats and Good Luck!

By the way my first baby was 9 pounds 2 ounces and he was 23 and 1/2 inches long!!!! OUCH!!! But he was sooooooooo beautiful and healthy and soooooo worth it!

Unless you have any medical problems, there is no reason to think you won't make it through pregnancy. Not gaining weight this early on is very normal, usually it's only suggested that you gain a couple pounds in your first trimester. I'm 19 weeks & still haven't gained! Just take care of yourself & continue to get pre-natal treatment & you'll most likely be fine.

I am about 10 years older than you and heavier. My first pregnancy I lost about 5 kg in the 1st trimester and didn't start putting weight on til well into the 2nd trimester. This pregnancy I have lost about 2/2.5kg and am now 14 weeks (weighed myself this morning and have lost another 1/2 kg). It will happen. Bub takes from you what they need!
