Absolutely, and I have done it. It's about feeling good about doing the right thing. Also, don't forget that cashier could get in trouble or have to pay it himself/herself at the end of the shift when they come up short. Stealing is stealing whether you grab it or someone puts it in your hand. You know if it isn't yours it isn't right to keep it. Personal integrity is very important - at the end of the day, it's all you have.

That's great! I did too. I was once given back $10 too much. I gave it back without second thoughts. It's only the right thing to do. Good deeds are done by good people, and now you're an honorary member! Keep up the good work :-)))

Been there and done that. Repeatedly. Oh I get nagged and made fun of and have been christened "Saint" by my peers, but what I don't get back in playing honest, at least I get to see the world with clear eyes.

I always do. I started working in retail when I was 16 and then went to banks. I know how much it stinks when your till doesn't balance. I always appreciated the honest customers.

Yes because if it was too short I would want my money and if it was too much I would tell him/her because I would want someone to tell and I wouldnt want that person to lose their job!
